The first and most important point is the massive difference in price in the apparently same tool, we will take the VAG 405 scanner as an example, do a search on ebay for VAG405 and you will see prices vary as much as £40.00 on the same tool, now I know what a genuine Autel VAG405 costs and the quantity needed to get at the prices some people are selling on ebay, sellers with small feedback selling supposedly genuine tools at a very low price means it`s a good chance the tool is a fake. We have been importing tools on a regular basis for quite a few years and you soon get to know an expected price for tools, some ebay sellers are selling goods at prices that we cannot get from our suppliers never mind adding the shipping costs from China and import duty, VAT etc We have had numerous people telephoning us looking for support both technicial and warranty as the machines they have bought from sellers on ebay have gone faulty and the seller is not answering their emails. Unfortunately we cannot help them as we only provide support to our customers, so be aware when picking up that bargain , the old adage comes to mind, if it seems to good to be true it probably is!
Being an auto do it yourself kind of guy for over 40yrs, most people like myself would appreciate the frustration of working on modern electronically managed vehicles and being unable to diagnose even basic problems without dedicated factory equipment. This is where Tools like the Launch Creader V is invaluable, it not only gives you access to data like the trouble codes themselves, but a readout of the item that the code represents from it's inbuilt data base, but also freeze data which is a snap shot of all the censor outputs at the time the the code was logged. You can also read data on the run from 02 censor tests, MAP & MAF, ignition timing, intake air temp, throttle possition etc. plus other tests. I found this tool a 'must have' and one of the best values when you consider the time and money it will save you in the long run. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner.
